Typographical interpretation of Max Ernst
Xtraworks in cooperation with Moderna Museet presenting the exhibition Max Ernst, dream and revolution
, arranged a competition for young creatives with a challenge of interpreting Max Ernst. Martin Nicolausson – a Groupie and a friend – won the first prize with his Die Anatomie: A humoristic, yet thought-through, typeface resembling human body parts.
My contribution is a rendition of the often somewhat absurd anatomy-book collages [Ernst used in his art] taking the form of a typeface, something that of course is impossible, but still amusing and a bit disgusting. Anyhow, it was really joyful to win!
